2026-2027 Addendum
The College Catalog is updated periodically to reflect approved changes that occur after publication. These changes may include revisions to academic policies, course information, program requirements, or other institutional information.
Effective starting in the Spring 2027 semester, the grading policy for CHM 090 - Chemistry Concepts has been revised. Students enrolled in CHM 090 will receive grades according to the following grading scale:
| A | Excellent | Successful mastery of all course requirements as specified by the instructor with excellent quality of performance. |
| B | Above Average | Successful completion of all course requirements as specified by the instructor with high quality of performance. |
| C | Average | Successful completion of all course requirements as specified by the instructor with an average quality of performance.** |
| F | Failing | Failure to successfully complete all course requirements as specified by the instructor. |
The previous grading scale of U, SA, SB will continue for the Fall 2026 semester.
This change supersedes the CHM 090 grading information published in the current College Catalog. All other course information and institutional grading policies remain unchanged.
The Scholar of Global Distinction Program
The Scholar of Global Distinction (SGD) Program provides students the opportunity to engage in globally intensive coursework, intercultural engagement, experiential learning, and critical reflection through a partnership with UNC World View at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Successful participants receive a Certificate of Completion from UNC World View and an official “Graduated with Global Distinction” designation on their academic transcript. Completion of the program is recognized at graduation and signifies achievement in global learning and intercultural competence.
